Why it's buy-it-for-life
Named alongside a short list of exceptions to declining product quality — a redditor singles it out as still holding up over time.
What owners say
In a thread specifically about Calvin Klein underwear, opinions are split. Some long-time wearers say the boxer briefs last well over a decade, with the waist elastic typically the first thing to fail after roughly five years, while another agrees CK holds up for a long time. Others report declining quality, describing holes appearing along the seams within months on recent purchases, calling the cotton line their least favorite compared to competitors, and doubting it's worth twice the price of a comparable multipack.

Calvin's aren't very good in my opinion.

Quality has gone down over the last few years I used to swear CK underwear from costco but last couple times I bought holes appear after a few months and in wierd spots along the seams not even like tear holes.

Still $40 for 5 and bet they won't be any better than the 5 pack you get at costco for $20

Exceptions (imho): Patagonia outerwear; Tumi luggage; Calvin Klein undies; BMWs
Calvin Klein Modern Cotton hipsters since they sit a bit lower without squeezing.
I've worn the kind of silky whatever they call them CK boxer briefs for 15+ years. They last a few years, and the first thing to go is the elastic at the waist... That said I really like how they fit and just know I'm going to have to replace them every 5 years or so.
After a few years, I don't want my underwear to be BIFL. Time for new ones. But yes CK hold up for a very long time.
I wear exclusively their viscose bamboo underwear but I'm looking for something new as the blend is now a lot more cotton
CK cotton is my least favorite of theirs. I prefer the modal ones. The cotton ones feel the same as any other brand of cotton underwear.
