Those look like they barely contain any original material. Just scraps and threads held together with patches and adhesive.
I've had the jacket for over 12 years now with normal wear and tear.
Modern Carhartt is still fine as workwear, but if you're trying to deal with the New England Winters, you'll need something with a bit more insulation.
