Costco's in-house merino wool sock, sold in multi-packs through Costco warehouses at a fraction of premium hiking-sock prices.

Why it's buy-it-for-life

Frequently cited as a much cheaper substitute for pricier merino brands — some redditors wear them for years across hot and cold climates and in work boots. Opinions are split: others report they stretch out, slip down, or develop holes faster than premium socks, and a past redesign made them run smaller for some feet.

I still wear the Costco socks for casual wear, but they just don't compare to the performance of my DT's

Cant stand the costco socks. They stretch out after a while and tend to slip down. Get holes in em at a reasonable rate.

The Costco ones are my work socks. Fantastic in a work boot. Nicely cushioned, breathe well, warm and comfy. Zero complaints.

All I ever wear is the Costco socks as well, wore them in NorCal in the 100's and Washington in the frost. They last me for years.

kirkland changed up their merino wool soxs, and they are now too small for my feet. I sure do miss the old design.
