Budget enameled cast iron dutch oven from American cookware maker Lodge, offering similar cooking performance to premium French brands at a fraction of the price.

Why it's buy-it-for-life

Owners report years of solid daily use with only minor, barely-noticeable chipping from normal wear or drops. Others find the enamel chips more easily or the pot rusts faster than premium alternatives like Staub or Le Creuset, so durability seems to depend more on careful handling than with pricier competitors.

I was gifted a lodge enamel cast iron Dutch oven for my wedding almost 10 years ago... they're sending me a new one free of charge... Their limited lifetime warranty checked out!

Same story! Mine recently got a few chips in the enamel right at the top... a new replacement dutch oven arrived yesterday... I was super impressed with their customer service.

Lodge isn’t BIFL. The coating will eventually wear down.

I had a Lodge with a similar issue and they replaced with zero questions asked after like 4 years.

I've heard lodge has a good warranty. Have you reached out to them or done any research regarding their warranty?

Staub is better but they are both BIFL

We use the Lodge. Several years and only one tiny chip on the top of the lid where we dropped it. Pretty solid, no complaints!

Lodge is rubbish that will rust in a short time.

I have a couple of lodge Dutch ovens as well, and they work fine but the white enamel stains a bit.

Damn I have this exact same one except it's 100X worse...the mold like corroded the enamel off. I still use mine.
