Why it's buy-it-for-life
Recommended on r/BuyItForLife as a durable alternative to mainstream boot brands whose quality has declined after conglomerate acquisitions — Lowa has been making boots for 100+ years and is still independently owned.

I'm hoping my latest are 'the ones' -- Lowa GTX Mids. German boot. They've been SO good after one season.
I find the uppers last well and stay waterproof but the Vibram tread wears down quickly for me and then the boots become slippy on mud and grass.
And Meindl or Lowa (German) for Hiking boots.
my lowas have been going strong for a couple of years now, and walk heavenly. I have the Innox Pro Goretex Mid.
I'd recommend looking at Lowa, who have been making boots for 100+ years and are still independently-owned.
