Why it's buy-it-for-life
Simple, near-indestructible glass jars that get reused indefinitely for storage and canning.
What owners say
Commenters describe using mason jars, especially with metal lids, for smaller-item and freezer storage, often pairing them with Pyrex or butcher paper for larger items. One notes leaving lids loose until contents freeze solid to avoid cracking the glass, and another advises choosing jars without shoulders since shouldered jars are more prone to breaking in the freezer.

For the most part you can use mason jars for smaller items or butcher paper for meats.
For the jars and the Pyrex, be sure to leave some space at the top to allow for expansion during freezing.
If you to use mason jars, make sure they are without shoulders, meant for the freezer.
