Why it's buy-it-for-life
Redditors report 20+ years of daily use from older USA-made pairs, including two resoles and ankle-padding replacements. Some caution that Merrell's overall quality and country of origin has changed since then.

I do not think their boots are worth the price though because there are other brands better for the money

Wow those new ones look like shit. Are they still as good?

My old pair of Wilderness hikers lasted about 20 years with daily use... they've been re-soled twice.
Be prepared to be disappointed in the outcome…. Merrill is not what it used to be
I loved my Merrill wilderness original. Put some good miles one them.
I have a pair of Merrell snow boots and hiking boots. They're both over a decade old and still absolutely the best things i've ever worn.
Love Merrells but next pair of hikers I get will not have those open lace hooks. Can be very dangerous...
You Have to be careful with items, 'Made in Italy'.
