Not like now. All my pants (in UK, I don't mean trousers) break within a year or so, and I've had to stop buying their t-shirts as the thread keeps coming loose.
Still wearing my 30 year-old St Michael (M&S) fleece jacket... Absolutely fine after all these years. No holes, no loose stitches, and still fits perfectly.
Their clothing used to be so good, but definitely pricier
M&S stuff is still decent but it's nowhere near what it used to be since they moved most of their production overseas
St. Micheal by M&S is some of the best quality clothes one can buy... I have 3 of their coats, and they are all superb: great quality, fit well and look smart.
St Michael's wool clothing (jumpers, cardigans, etc) are surprisingly high quality and can be found for absolutely dirt cheap on places like Ebay and Vinted.
Mines the light brown Sherpa lined one and it is the warmest thing ever.
