Ballistic nylon messenger bags, backpacks, and luggage built for heavy daily and travel use.

Why it's buy-it-for-life
Owners report decades of hard daily use and abuse (climbed a mountain, thrown off a cliff, washing-machine cycles) with the bags still functional, and Tumi has replaced a worn bag for a longtime customer. One owner also complained that the synthetic-leather handle wrap on a newer bag peeled after a few years of use.

Backpacks don't just "fail". Tumi is a ripoff

The straps on the inside broke off the case within a couple of months... They wouldn't fix or replace it the second time.

its outrageous how Tumi is willing to cheap out on synthetic leather on a $300 bag

It's an excellent bag. It's been through a lot with me, and it's still holding up.

Exceptions (imho): Patagonia outerwear; Tumi luggage; Calvin Klein undies; BMWs

My Tumi backpack is on 23 years. Its zipper broke, and they fixed it for free.

Tumi hasn't been the same since they were acquired by Samsonite in 2016. Quality is way down.

Best bag I have ever had but it's older.

I have two Tumi's that flew with me for over a million miles in 6 years. There are no breaks anywhere on them.

I have a 30 year old Tumi laptop bag. Kept a series of Macintosh laptops safe.

Sometimes overpriced just means overbuilt, tumi really said "you'll get tired before I do."

1998 should have still been covered by the lifetime warranty. The lack of parts shouldn't excuse that, but they have gone down.

I've also had a beloved Tumi carry-on... from the 1990s... Tumi no longer carries the parts and I guess they've deemed it irreparable

tumi fixed it for free 3 years out of warranty. Gonna go ahead and get another tumi

now they are just overpriced crap with no warranty

I put the work in and gave my old Tumi a second life
This Tumi bag was stupid expensive but it's seen a dozen countries and been kicking ass for 11 years.
I'll never buy Tumi again after they reneged on their lifetime warranty post-purchase.
their backpacks are $675 - $1100 and that's outrageous
I had a Tumi messenger bag I bought in 1986 that I put through hell and it just didn't care.
I got my first Tumi roller bag in 1998, used it regularly and only once had to send it in... My wife and I now own 5 Tumis... great products!!!
