I was sick of my vacuums breaking every 6 months so in '08 I bought a pink Dyson. We replaced the plastic hose bc it eventually cracked in one spot.
I still have a Dyson "animal" from 10 years ago, but it is so loud, I had to buy a hearing protection headset
even after we've replaced parts, I still couldn't get great suction

The brushes don't spin... I caution against anything Dyson.

Dyson upright vacuum I actually got for free... it still works like an absolute champ.
