Sometimes newer is better. You tried one of them MX Masters? ... That thing is in excellent condition.

20 year old Logitech Premium Optical USB Mouse
the DPI on these old mice is awful. Not to mention you need a mousepad for many of them to work.
There isn't anything to break there.
the keyboards, all the hardware is durable as ever. but with drawback.
I still have that mouse too. Got it for $14 in 1999 from Best Buy.
