Why it's buy-it-for-life
A bike tech sold the OP his own pair in 1996 because they were "wearing out" for daily shop use; almost 30 years of occasional home use later they're still going strong, and Pedro's still sells the same tool today.

Almost 30 years later they are going strong and have been used for numerous projects.
If you are using them sparingly they will last forever, good find.
