Despite Samsung's poor reputation in BIFL circles, one owner's 2012 unit, inherited from a previous homeowner, is still running strong more than a decade later, with only a minor back-panel icing issue that was cheap and easy to fix.

we were constantly getting the icemaker fixed like everybody else after two years... they called me up and offered to reimburse me for the entire fridge.
for the love of all things good, don't buy a Samsung.
Samsung and LG have serious longevity issues, problems with compressors, icemakers, etc. and parts are difficult to come by and expensive.
my Samsung refrigerator (which I inherited from the previous homeowners) with a manufacture date in 2012 is still going strong... It did have an issue where the back panel would ice over, but that was an easy and cheap fix/upgrade.
