I got this singer 48k from 1905, and it still works.
You can replace the bobbin winder tire really easily, the new ones pop right on.
Not a single piece of plastic besides the rubber I mentioned.
My mom has the same machine. She bought it when she got married 28 years ago, and she's still using it to this day.
I have two of these and love them!
It needed a little bit of a service (basically just putting some sewing machine oil in all of the oil holes) but works brilliantly.
