Why it's buy-it-for-life
One owner used the same CrewSeries suitcase for 9,704 days (over 26 years) before the wheels finally wore down, and was able to repair it himself with off-the-shelf inline skate wheels and bearings rather than replacing the bag. Other owners confirm the shell and hardware stay in great shape long-term, though the telescoping handle's rubber/plastic grip can degrade and get sticky over time.

First time replacing the wheels on my TravelPro CrewSeries, bought December 10, 1998... I swapped in new inline skate wheels with standard 608zz bearings but kept the original axle.
Well done for finding a good way to repair it. The rest looks pretty immaculate, got years more in it.
On my CrewSeries, sadly the rubber/plastic handle on the telescoping pull-out started degrading and is now a sticky mess.
