Why it's buy-it-for-life
Recommended as a durable, long-lasting home office chair that can be found refurbished or secondhand well under retail price, though buyers should stick to legitimate factory refurbishers rather than resellers that just clean and resell worn units.
What owners say
Owners report strong longevity: one says their Leap V2 has functioned perfectly after 12 years, and another who bought a remanufactured unit from Crandall Office Furniture uses it for hours a day without issue. Not every refurbished unit holds up, though — one buyer describes a $400 refurbished Leap V2 that fell apart shortly after purchase. A separate comment distinguishes legitimate factory refurbishers like Crandall Office Furniture, which rebuild with new parts and renew the factory warranty, from resellers that merely clean and resell used chairs.

My work uses Steelcase Leaps so I spend lots of time sitting in one. I really like it... found one for $100... it's now my gaming / computer chair.

I bought a remanufactured Steelcase Leap V2 from Crandall Office Furniture about three or four years ago. I work from home and sit in it for HOURS a day, every day.

Steel case leap 2 refurbished - love it. Adjustable arms are nice for smaller people.

I've bought 4 refurbished Steelcase Leap V2 chairs from Madison seating... got a reupholster kit from Crandall. No complaints.
Steelcase Leap V2 for sure. You can usually get a good deal on them second hand if you can't afford the up front cost to buy new.
Mine's 8 years old and still as good as the day I bought it. Legit tank and very comfortable.
I thought I was smartest guy ever buying refurbished chair. $400 for like-new Leap V2? What a deal until I sat on it
